NORFOLK — Members of the New York State Police arrested Camryn S. Randall, age 24, of Canton, for third-degree assault and unlawful possession/sale of a noxious material, specifically self-defense spray.
The incident occurred on Aug. 27 at approximately 10:46 p.m., when Troopers responded to a report of a fight in progress on Maple Street in the town of Norfolk.
The investigation revealed that Randall had approached the victim and pepper-sprayed them, causing the victim to trip and fall to the ground.
Randall then continued to hold the victim down, resulting in back and neck pain.
The victim was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Randall was arrested and taken to SP Massena for processing.
She was later arraigned in the Town of Norfolk Court, where she was released on her own recognizance.
