Malone police arrest man on weapons, contempt charges after domestic dispute

MALONE — Members of the New York State Police arrested Dominick P. Rust, 21, of Malone, on Aug. 28 following an alleged domestic dispute.

At about 11:59 p.m. that Thursday, troopers responded to a report of a domestic incident on State Route 30 in Malone.

An investigation determined that Rust became upset during a verbal argument, which escalated when he allegedly grabbed a knife and made threatening statements toward the victim.

Rust was charged with aggravated family offense, first-degree criminal contempt, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and second-degree menacing.

He was processed at SP Malone and arraigned in the Town of Malone Court.

Rust was remanded to Franklin County Jail on bail options of $500 cash, $1,000 bond, or a $1,500 partially secured bond.
