HERMON — The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 27-year-old man on domestic violence charges after he allegedly appeared at his ex-girlfriend’s residence with a handgun on Aug. 28.

Jorge Malone of Hermon was taken into custody without incident after deputies responded to a call at approximately 2 p.m. from a woman reporting that Malone was at her residence armed with a handgun.

The caller had recently sought a protection from abuse order against Malone.

Surveillance footage from the victim’s camera system confirmed Malone’s presence at the residence, showing him visibly armed with a handgun.

The sheriff’s office deployed a drone due to the urgent nature of the situation, which located Malone in the backyard of the Hermon residence still in possession of the handgun.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and arrest warrants for Malone, which were granted by a judge.

Malone was arrested with assistance from the Maine State Police Tactical Team on charges of domestic violence stalking and domestic violence terrorizing.

He was also served with the protection from abuse order and weapons restriction paperwork.
