Stamford man arrested on domestic assault charges after firearm incident

STAMFORD — A 52-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on domestic assault charges after allegedly pointing a firearm at a family member and discharging the weapon outside a residence.

Charles Dolle of Stamford was taken into custody without incident at 3:44 p.m. following a domestic disturbance investigation by Vermont State Police troopers from the Shaftsbury barracks.

Police said Dolle pointed a firearm at a household member during an argument and then discharged the weapon outside the residence.

Dolle faces charges of first degree aggravated domestic assault, reckless endangerment and offense committed in the presence of a child.

He was transported to the Shaftsbury barracks for processing and was ordered held without bail at Marble Valley Correctional Facility.

Dolle is scheduled to appear in Bennington County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.

Vermont State Police does not identify victims of domestic assault.
