WORCESTER — Neighborhood Response Team officers arrested two men on drug trafficking charges after observing a drug transaction on Chandler Street at approximately 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers later located the two suspects on the corner of Main Street and Ionic Avenue.
Adonny Aviles, 21, ran from officers but was apprehended and found to be carrying a large amount of crack cocaine, police said.
Jose Diaz, 55, was observed throwing drugs under a parked vehicle, which officers recovered.
The drugs weighed 18.5 grams, which is considered trafficking weight, according to police.
Aviles and Diaz are charged with trafficking in Class B 18-36 grams, possession with intent to distribute Class B (subsequent offense) and conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws.
Officers also stopped the buyer and recovered a baggie of crack cocaine.
The buyer was summoned to court.
