Fort Kent police arrest Caribou man on firearms, reckless conduct charges

FORT KENT — A 20-year-old Caribou man was arrested and charged after police executed a temporary arrest warrant on Aug. 25 in connection with an incident involving firearms.

With assistance from the Caribou Police Department, Eric Pitre was taken into custody at his residence without incident.

Officers seized two firearms during Pitre’s arrest.

Pitre was charged with Class C reckless conduct with a firearm and Class C aggravated criminal mischief.

He was transported to the Aroostook County Jail, where his bail was set at $10,000 cash.

Police said a 16-year-old male juvenile was also allegedly involved in the incident.

A temporary warrant was issued for the juvenile’s arrest on Aug. 26, but he had not been apprehended as of Wednesday morning.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
