2-car crash injures 1 in Barrington

BARRINGTON — A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Six Corners Road and Glenn Road injured one person Sunday morning.

The Yates County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at 8:55 a.m. along with Dundee Fire Department, Dundee Ambulance, Yates EMS and the Office of Emergency Services.

Gerald Gascon, 79, of Millport, failed to yield the right of way to a van traveling south on Six Corners Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

Gascon’s car struck the van, causing it to exit the west side of the road.

The van’s driver, Sara Raplee, 37, of Dundee, sustained a hand injury and was transported by Yates EMS to Geneva General Hospital for treatment.

Gascon was checked by Dundee medics at the scene and refused treatment.

Gascon was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way and will answer the charge in Barrington Town Court.
