Montpelier police arrest 18-year-old woman for aggravated assault

MONTPELIER — Officers from the Montpelier Police Department responded to a report of an altercation at an encampment located behind a house of worship on State Street at approximately 10:01 p.m. Sunday.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a female suspect had assaulted another individual during the incident by kicking her about the head and neck.

The suspect was identified as Zoey Burnor, age 18.

Burnor was taken into custody at the scene without further incident.

The victim sustained significant injuries during the assault and was evaluated by the Montpelier Ambulance Service.

Following the investigation, a Superior Court Judge was contacted who set bail for Burnor at $1,500.

Burnor was charged with aggravated assault and lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility for lack of bail pending arraignment in Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division Monday.
