RUMFORD — The Rumford Police Department has made two arrests in connection with the Aug. 15 pursuit and shooting incident.
Joseph Allen Denbow Jr., 33, of Norway, was charged with eluding an officer, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and violation of bail.
Bail has been denied and Denbow remains in custody at the Oxford County Jail in South Paris.
Troy Scott Murch Jr., 38, of Norway, was charged with eluding an officer and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.
Bail has been set at $10,000 cash and Murch remains in custody at the Oxford County Jail.
The Rumford Police Department is working with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and multiple law enforcement agencies to continue gathering evidence and identifying all involved parties.
Based on the current investigation, this incident is believed to have been an attack on law enforcement officers in an attempt to evade capture.
The suspect shooters are believed to have fled the Rumford area, but the investigation remains active.
Police Chief Tony L. Milligan said no further details will be released to protect case integrity.
