NORTH HAVEN — Police have arrested a 15-year-old juvenile in connection with two purse snatching robberies that occurred at gas stations on Sept. 28, 2024.
The arrest was made Aug. 19 following a collaborative investigation between North Haven detectives and Glastonbury police.
In each incident, suspects used a stolen Toyota to approach victims parked at gas stations.
Two individuals would exit the vehicle, open the victims’ car doors while they were seated, and forcibly take their purses before fleeing.
Police said a similar crime was committed in Glastonbury prior to the North Haven incidents, involving the same suspect vehicle and suspects.
Investigators linked the juvenile to the crimes through witness statements, forensic evidence and digital records.
An arrest warrant was approved by New Haven Juvenile Court.
The juvenile faces two counts of robbery in the second degree and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery in the second degree.
