Man arrested after pointing gun at motorist in Wawayanda road rage incident

WAWAYANDA — A 49-year-old Highland Mills man was arrested following a road rage incident in which he allegedly pointed a handgun at another motorist.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police received a report of the road rage incident on State Route 17M at approximately 10:15 a.m. Aug. 21.

After a few-mile-long road rage incident, the victim, a 29-year-old New Jersey resident, reported to deputies that the suspect, Marckensy Louissaint, drove up alongside him and pointed a black handgun at him.

Deputies located Louissaint at his place of employment in the Town of Wawayanda and recovered a black Glock 23 from him.

Louissaint was charged with one count of menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

He was arraigned at the Town of Wawayanda court and released on his own recognizance to return to court at a later date.
