3 teens charged in Whitestown Plaza vehicle theft

WHITESTOWN — Three juveniles were charged with stealing a vehicle from the Whitestown Plaza parking lot during overnight hours on Aug. 3, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.

The stolen vehicle, which bore the names of Whitesboro businesses, was located by patrol deputies behind a business in the Town of Vienna on the same morning.

Three juveniles who were not from the local area were then located near the stolen vehicle.

The juveniles were later turned over to their parents, the vehicle was returned to the owner and the investigation was forwarded to the Juvenile Aid Unit.

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old male juvenile was charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony and arraigned in Oneida County Court Youth Part where he was released to a parent and referred to Oneida County Probation.

Two 13-year-old male juveniles were also charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor, and referred to Oneida County Probation.
