BOSTON — The Boston Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in connection with an assault and battery investigation in South Boston.
The incident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, in the area of Telegraph Street and Old Harbor Street.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was walking up Telegraph Street toward Old Harbor Street when she observed the suspect following her.
The suspect attempted to gain her attention by shouting before rushing toward her and pinning her against a vehicle.
The suspect then restrained her arms in an effort to restrict her movement.
The victim was able to scream, and when the suspect became distracted, she broke free and fled to safety.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’7″ in height, medium build, tan complexion, with a black buzz cut.
He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and dark clothing.
Detectives assigned to District C-6 are actively investigating the circumstances of this incident.
