SPENCER — The Spencer Police Department, a parole officer from the Massachusetts Parole Board and the Ware Police Department arrested Shayne Beardsley on Tuesday for rape of a child under 16, in violation of Chapter 265 Section 22B.
Beardsley, 43, was born Oct. 22, 1981.
The arrest came after an investigation by the Spencer Police Department, which had obtained a warrant for Beardsley’s arrest.
Beardsley was on parole for the same charges and on a GPS ankle tracking monitor while living in Ware.
Beardsley was taken into custody at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 19.
His GPS ankle monitor was removed and he was brought to the Western Worcester District Court located in East Brookfield.
He was held on a parole detention warrant and an additional $10,000 bail for the new charge.
At approximately 9 p.m., parole officers from the Massachusetts Parole Board came to Ware after learning that Beardsley had been released from custody.
Parole officers along with the Ware Police Department went back to Beardsley’s residence in Ware and took him back into custody for the parole detention warrant.
Beardsley is currently held on the parole detention warrant.
