DEDHAM — State Police arrested four juveniles and recovered four firearms Friday night after investigating reports of stolen vehicles in an empty parking lot.

The Troop H Community Action Team received reports of several motor vehicle thefts, including a white Volkswagen Jetta stolen from Boston, a Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen from Milton, and a white Honda CR-V stolen from Braintree.

Shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, troopers located the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Honda CR-V in an empty parking lot at the end of a dead-end residential street.

After receiving confirmation the vehicles were stolen, troopers secured the scene for processing.

A short time later, a silver Honda Pilot drove down the dead-end street.

As it approached within eyesight of the tow truck and fully marked State Police cruiser, it reversed direction and returned to the main road.

Troopers believed the vehicle was returning to pick up the stolen vehicles and initiated a motor vehicle stop.

Before troopers approached the vehicle, they observed several passengers moving frantically inside.

During their approach, the rear passenger door opened and a young male jumped out and fled.

Troopers detained three other individuals who also tried to flee unsuccessfully.

The operator of the Honda Pilot told troopers she was working as a rideshare driver unknowingly transporting the suspects.

Troopers located four firearms inside her vehicle from the area where the suspects were seated.

The first firearm was seen in plain view on the floor of the backseat.

A subsequent search led to three additional firearms.

Several weapons contained large capacity magazines capable of holding more than ten rounds, one weapon’s serial number was defaced, and another was found with a switch device that makes a pistol fully automatic.

When troopers searched the three suspects during the arrest process, they discovered a 40MM round on one suspect.

Boston Police located the fourth outstanding suspect on River Street behind a business.

Police transported all four suspects to the Milton Barracks for booking.

No information is available regarding their identities because they are juveniles.

Troopers found several warrants for crimes including armed robbery, home invasion, firearms offenses, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, vandalism, and breaking and entering.

The Bail Commissioner ordered all suspects held on no bail and police transferred them to the Department of Youth Services.

All suspects will be charged with possession of a loaded machine gun, possession of large-capacity feeding devices, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of firearms without an FID card, carrying loaded firearms without a license, and defacing a firearm serial number.

One juvenile will also be charged with resisting arrest.
