STAMFORD — The Stamford Police Department assisted the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office with executing an arrest warrant at 1 Greyrock Pl. at approximately 7 a.m. today.
The suspect, identified as Jerry Genesis, born Nov. 29, 1990, barricaded himself inside his apartment at The Urby during the operation.
The Stamford Police Hostage Negotiation Unit and Special Response Team were activated to support the effort and ensure the safety of residents and officers.
After approximately three hours, members of the Special Response Team successfully took the suspect into custody without incident.
No injuries were reported.
Genesis was arrested on the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office warrant and will be charged with fugitive from justice, interfering with a search warrant and interfering with police.
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office will handle inquiries regarding the underlying charges.
