SPRINGFIELD — Three teenagers were arrested early Tuesday in connection with a stolen motor vehicle, with assistance from a police K9 unit.
Springfield Police Officers assigned to Squad “A” made the arrests at approximately 2:15 a.m.
Around 1:30 a.m., officers observed multiple individuals getting out of a parked vehicle that was reported stolen out of Chicopee on Monday.
Members of the Springfield Police Real-Time Analysis Center had shared a photo of the vehicle as it was involved in a gun call earlier in the day.
As the individuals parked and got out of the car on Lionel Benoit Road, assisting officers arrived.
K9 Officer David Olszak and K9 Ace began searching with officers in a wooded area when a 14-year-old female, 15-year-old male and 16-year-old male all came out of the woods and were placed under arrest.
Due to their ages, the suspects’ names, booking photos and specific charges will not be released.
