AVON — Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Monroe County resident on felony charges following an investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
On July 28, Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a business on East Avon Road in the Town of Avon for the report of multiple vehicle larcenies that had occurred around 3:30 p.m. that afternoon.
Sheriff’s Investigators began an investigation into the Grand Larceny and thefts from the vehicles.
Through the investigation, the suspect was identified as 39-year-old Richard Robson from the City of Rochester.
On Aug. 18, Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Robson and charged him with felony Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree and two counts of Petit Larceny.
Robson was transported to the Livingston County Jail, where he was turned over to Central Booking Deputies for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Robson was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Caledonia Justice Riggi.
The Judge did remand Robson to the Custody of the Sheriff on no bail, due to him having two or more prior felony convictions.
The Livingston County Public Defender’s Office was present and represented Robson at the court arraignment for his defense.
The Livingston County District Attorney’s Office was also present to represent the People.
Assisting with the investigation for the Sheriff’s Office were members of the Criminal Investigations Division and the Patrol Division along with assistance from the Avon Police Department.
