WALDOBORO — Maine State Police detectives arrested a Damariscotta man Thursday in connection with a homicide in this Lincoln County town.
James Clark, 49, was charged with murder in the death of Levern Kelley of Waldoboro.
Detectives from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit-Central obtained an arrest warrant for Clark on Aug. 15 following several days of investigation.
Clark fled Maine after the alleged crime.
The Maine Information and Analysis Center and Volusia County, Florida authorities assisted in locating Clark.
Major Crimes Unit detectives coordinated with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office to make the arrest.
Clark was arrested without incident at the Red Carpet Inn in the South Daytona area at 6:40 p.m. Thursday.
He is awaiting extradition to Maine.
