Waterbury pedestrian seriously injured in crash, driver arrested for DUI

WATERBURY — A 38-year-old pedestrian suffered suspected serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Waterbury-Stowe Road at the Interstate 89 north on-ramp Sunday at 10:39 p.m.

Vermont State Police identified the pedestrian as Skyler Litchfield of Waterbury.

The driver was identified as Kevin Bell, 27, of Montpelier.

Bell was driving a 2024 Honda Civic when the crash occurred under clear weather conditions on dry roads.

Investigation revealed Bell operated his vehicle in a negligent manner, according to police.

Bell displayed signs of impairment while speaking with troopers, police said.

Bell was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross negligent operation.

He was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

Litchfield was taken to Central Vermont Medical Center for treatment.

Bell’s vehicle sustained minor damage.

Bell was issued a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court.
