BOURNE — A 50-year-old Taunton man was seriously injured when his Harley Davidson motorcycle was struck from behind by a Ford Escape on MacArthur Boulevard at 9:43 p.m. Thursday.
The crash occurred on northbound MacArthur Boulevard near mile marker 62.4.
The motorcyclist was conscious and alert but sustained serious injuries and was transported to an off-Cape trauma center by Bourne Fire & Rescue.
The Ford Escape operator, a 23-year-old Falmouth woman, was not injured and refused medical treatment.
Lane closures were in effect while the scene was documented.
The Bourne Police Department was assisted by MassDOT, Massachusetts State Police and officers from the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council’s Crash Reconstruction Team.
The crash remains under investigation by the Bourne Police Department with assistance from the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council’s Crash Reconstruction Team.
