WORCESTER — A 25-year-old Webster man was arrested in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred Aug. 12.

Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 90 Millbury St. at about 11:30 p.m. for a report of a ShotSpotter activation.

Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence that shots had been fired.

After the preliminary investigation, the case was assigned to the Crime Gun Intelligence Unit for follow-up.

After an investigation, detectives were granted a search warrant for a Washington St. apartment.

They developed probable cause for the arrest of Marc Romero of Webster in connection with the shots fired.

They saw Romero exit the address, and the vehicle in which he was riding was operated by 29-year-old Amber Nelson of Wedgewood Road.

Nelson has a suspended driver’s license, and officers stopped the vehicle near the corner of Winter and Harding streets.

Romero was placed under arrest for armed assault with intent to murder, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, use of a firearm in a felony, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and vandalism.

Officers located a large amount of what appeared to be cocaine in a bag carried by Nelson.

She was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking in a Class B substance 18-36 grams and driving with a suspended license.
