QUINCY — A 33-year-old Quincy man was arrested Wednesday on drug trafficking charges after police seized 8.5 kilograms of methamphetamine and other narcotics from his home.
Nghia Van Huynh was arrested by Quincy Police Department detectives at around 1:45 p.m. on Turning Mill Lane following an investigation into illegal drug activity in West Quincy.
Police obtained a search warrant for Huynh’s home after his arrest.
Detectives seized over 600 grams of ketamine, 16 grams of cocaine, 390 grams of MDMA, 400 grams of synthetic cathinones, 7 pounds of marijuana, 400 vape cartridges and hallucinogenic mushrooms.
Police also recovered an illegal firearm, ammunition and over $61,000 in cash.
Huynh faces 13 charges including trafficking 200 or more grams of methamphetamine, multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, conspiracy to violate drug laws and several firearm violations.
He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Quincy District Court.
