ENFIELD — Officers were dispatched to a residence on Garden Street Thursday for a report of an active burglary in progress.
The homeowner reported a male had forced entry into his home and was seen on cameras inside the residence as officers arrived.
A perimeter was established and the Drone Unit and K9 Unit were requested.
One of the department pilots cleared each floor and the male wasn’t located.
K9 Dunkin was then utilized for a building search.
After clearing three floors, the dog was tasked with searching the basement where one of the windows was found to be broken.
After multiple announcements were made for the suspect to give up and receiving no response, K9 Dunkin entered the basement.
The suspect was ultimately located and apprehended by K9 Dunkin hiding under construction debris.
