BARTON — Michael Huntley, winner of season 24 of NBC’s “The Voice,” will perform at the Orleans County Fair on Saturday, September 6.
The 34-year-old blues rock singer-songwriter from Virginia captured the competition crown in December 2023, earning coach Niall Horan his second consecutive victory on the show. Huntley’s win came after a season-long journey that began when his young daughter Stella chose Horan as his coach during the blind auditions.
“I describe my genre as singer-songwriter country, definitely Southern blues rock ‘n’ roll,” Huntley told The Free Lance-Star in 2022. During his time on “The Voice,” he drew frequent comparisons to Chris Stapleton for his powerful vocal style and blues-influenced approach.
Originally from Spring Hill, Florida, Huntley now calls Fredericksburg, Virginia home. He briefly relocated to Nashville to pursue his music career before returning to Virginia and eventually auditioning for “The Voice.” A father of two, Huntley has credited his children as major motivations in his musical journey.
His path to “The Voice” wasn’t without setbacks. He previously auditioned for season 14 of “American Idol,” advancing to the Hollywood rounds but never appearing on the broadcast.
Since winning “The Voice,” Huntley has continued releasing new music, including recent singles “Tell Me When It’s Over” in August 2024 and “Skyline Drive” in October. he was signed with Republic Records as part of his “Voice” prize package.
The Orleans County Fair performance marks another milestone for the artist who has performed everywhere from “The Voice” stage to singing the national anthem at a Buffalo Bills game just days after his victory.
90 Proof kick off the music at 6:00 p.m. and Huntley will take the stage from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.
