SPRINGFIELD — A 35-year-old Springfield man was arrested Tuesday on charges of violating conditions of his release.
Nicholas J. Macie was taken into custody after Springfield Police officers observed him at a residence on Valley Street in close proximity to a victim, according to a police press release.
Officers were initially searching for another individual on an in-state arrest warrant when they spotted Macie at 78 Valley Street.
Following an investigation, officers determined Macie was allegedly violating a condition of his release.
Macie is being held at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or surety bond.
He has been issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
The incident occurred Tuesday and was investigated by Officer Markus Watson with assistance from Officer Vincent Franchi.
