LAKEWOOD — A 28-year-old Lakewood man was arrested Saturday on warrants from the Town of Busti Court in connection with a fraudulent check scheme.
Braxton Achterberg was taken into custody by the Lakewood-Busti Police Department on Aug. 9.
Police allege Achterberg obtained a fraudulent check and used it to pay a victim for property, knowing there were insufficient funds.
Achterberg was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, criminal possession of a forged instrument and issuing a bad check.
He was taken to the county jail for arraignment.
