BOSTON — Two Boston residents were arrested Tuesday following a traffic stop in Roxbury that led to the seizure of approximately 62 grams of crack cocaine and other drugs.

Kareem Woods, 32, and Michelle Arce, 40, were taken into custody near Washington Street and Dudley Street at approximately 6 p.m., according to the Boston Police Department.

Officers patrolling Nubian Square observed Woods operating a vehicle on Taber Street despite having a suspended license, police said.

During the traffic stop, officers noticed Woods and Arce switched seats while the vehicle was in motion, with Arce moving to the driver’s seat.

Woods exited the vehicle and began walking away before officers could approach, leading to his immediate arrest for operating with a suspended license.

A search of Arce revealed two plastic bags of crack cocaine and one bag of pressed designer pills on her person, police said.

Officers also found a digital scale with suspected cocaine residue in the vehicle’s center console.

At Nashua Street Jail, a search of Woods uncovered a large plastic bag containing 89 smaller bags and one medium bag of crack cocaine weighing approximately 62 grams concealed in his underwear.

Woods faces charges including trafficking in cocaine, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and delivering drugs to a penal institution.

Arce is charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession of pressed designer pills, and allowing unlicensed operation.

Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
