3 arrested on various charges in Providence area

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police made three separate arrests Aug. 12 on charges ranging from obstructing an officer to counterfeiting.

At 10:53 a.m., troopers arrested Jacob Perry, 35, of Providence, following a motor vehicle stop on Smith Street.

Perry was charged with obstructing an officer in the execution of duty and forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates.

He was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later arraigned at the Sixth Division District Court.

At 1:37 p.m., troopers arrested Marianela Tavaras-Tavarez, 30, of 25 Providence, following a barracks investigation and subsequent motor vehicle stop on Route 10 South in Cranston.

Tavaras-Tavarez was charged with passing of counterfeit certificates, bills or notes; larceny under $1,500; and obtaining money under false pretenses.

She was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and released pending a future court date at the Sixth Division District Court.

At 11:50 p.m., troopers arrested Juan Agurto Yanez, 25, of Providence, on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant during a motor vehicle stop on Broad Street.

The warrant was for failure to appear for a pretrial conference on a charge of driving with a suspended license originating from the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

Agurto Yanez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Men’s Intake Center.
