SOUTH WINDSOR — Police arrested Nicholas L. Simmons, 33, of Enfield on Monday on charges of violating two standing criminal protective orders.
The arrest occurred at 11:05 a.m. when South Windsor Police Department officers executed an active arrest warrant as Simmons was being released from MacDougal-Walker Correctional Facility.
The charges stem from a domestic violence incident on Aug. 8 in which Simmons allegedly threatened a victim while incarcerated, violating two criminal protective orders.
Members of the Criminal Investigations Unit were present at the correctional facility prior to Simmons’ scheduled release and took him into custody with assistance from the Department of Corrections.
Simmons was processed and held on a $100,000 surety bond.
He is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
