Providence police arrest 3 on drug, warrant, false report charges

PROVIDENCE — Troopers arrested Paulo Barros, age 56, of 10 Martelo Street, East Providence, on Monday at 12:00 p.m. for possession of a controlled substance schedule I-V – ten grams or less (crack cocaine) and driving with a suspended license – fourth or subsequent offense.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Broad Street in Providence.

Barros was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and released pending a future date at the Sixth Division District Court.

At 2:20 p.m. Monday, troopers arrested Cassandra Eddy, age 30, of 61 America Street, Providence, on a Providence Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear for a pretrial conference on the charge of felony assault originating from the Providence Police Department.

The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South in Providence.

Eddy was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and later transported to the Adult Correctional Institution Women’s Intake Center.

At 3:45 p.m. Monday, troopers arrested Tehmaas Ahmad, age 20, of 38 Steeple Lane, Lincoln, for false report of a crime and obstruction.

The arrest resulted from a barracks investigation and Ahmad turning himself in to the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

Ahmad was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned and released pending a future date at the Third Division District Court.
