BABYLON — A 2-year-old child died after being struck by a vehicle at Belmont Lake State Park on Aug. 10.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:43 p.m. in the north parking lot of the park in Suffolk County.
The child was struck by a 2016 Acura, according to state police.
The driver immediately contacted 911 and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.
Following a thorough investigation, state police determined there was no criminality involved in the incident.
The child succumbed to their injuries.
