West Roxbury man arrested in connection with shots fired incident

BOSTON — A 19-year-old West Roxbury man was arrested Tuesday night on multiple firearm charges in connection with a shots fired incident last week.

Linton Young was arrested at about 9:22 p.m. Aug. 5 in the area of 145 Crown Point Drive by officers assigned to District E-5, according to Boston Police.

Young was wanted on a warrant issued out of West Roxbury District Court for assault with a dangerous weapon (firearm), discharge a firearm within 500 feet of a building, unlawful possession of a firearm (second and subsequent offense), unlawful possession of ammunition (second offense), carrying a loaded firearm (second offense), malicious damage to a motor vehicle, and willful, malicious, or wanton injury to person property.

The charges stem from an incident at about 6:34 p.m. July 31 when officers responded to the area of 5245 Washington Street for a report of shots fired.

Officers did not locate any victims but found ballistic evidence on Washington Street.

Ballistic damage was also observed to 4278 Washington Street.

Young is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
