Monkton woman arrested after allegedly trying to have dogs attack troopers

MONKTON — A 32-year-old woman was arrested Saturday evening after allegedly becoming hostile toward state police and attempting to have her dogs attack officers responding to a family dispute.

Hailey Lowell of Monkton was taken into custody at 6:34 p.m. on Twin Ridge Road following the incident.

Troopers from the New Haven Barracks had responded to reports of a family fight in the town of Monkton in Addison County.

During the investigation, Lowell became hostile toward the responding officers and tried to have her dogs attack the troopers, according to police.

Lowell was arrested and transported to the New Haven Barracks.

She was issued a citation to appear before Vermont Superior Court Addison Criminal Division on Oct. 20 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to a charge of simple assault.
