CHENANGO — New York State Police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred late Thursday night at a residence on Castle Creek Road.
Troopers responded to 1086 Castle Creek Road at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 7 after receiving a report of a stabbing.
Initial reports indicate 50-year-old Harry Swan, of Chenango, was involved in a physical altercation with 48-year-old Jeffrey Ryan, of Binghamton.
Preliminary information suggests Ryan drove to Swan’s residence, where a confrontation occurred outside the home.
Ryan allegedly stabbed Swan during the altercation.
Swan then retreated inside, retrieved a knife, and stabbed Ryan.
Swan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ryan was transported to Wilson Hospital in critical condition and later died from his injuries.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
