WATERBURY — The Waterbury Police Department conducted a multi-unit operation targeting prostitution on Aug. 6.
The initiative involved the department’s Vice and Intelligence Division, Auto Theft Task Force, Gang Task Force, Crime Prevention Unit, and the Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force.
The operation focused on quality-of-life concerns in the Willow Street and Hillside Avenue areas.
Eight individuals were arrested and charged with prostitution.
Those arrested include Amy Steele, 41; Monica Miller, 37; Tiffany Clark, 35; Julia Belmonte, 27; Kaitlyn Murphy, 30; Shannon Dizinno, 54; Sherese Woodson, 38; and Anakary Espinal-Adames, 35.
All are residents of Waterbury.
The Waterbury Police Department stated the enforcement is part of its ongoing efforts to improve community safety and living conditions.
