MAMARONECK — The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department has arrested 23-year-old Saqueo Leonel Guzman Ramirez of White Plains in connection with two commercial burglaries at Ralph’s Italian Ices located at 407 Mamaroneck Avenue.

The investigation began on July 23 after the business owner reported that a male had unlawfully entered the business on July 18 and stolen approximately $1,000 in cash.

Security footage revealed a masked individual familiar with the premises accessing the store using a key retrieved from an external lock box.

Further investigation identified the suspect as a former employee, Mr. Guzman Ramirez, who had been terminated earlier this year.

Detectives obtained additional surveillance footage from other businesses and village-owned cameras, linking the suspect to another burglary at the same location on July 27, where he stole an additional $1,500.

Mr. Guzman Ramirez was arrested on Aug. 7 and charged with burglary (Penal Law 140.20), grand larceny (Penal Law 155.30), and petit larceny (Penal Law 155.25).

He was arraigned in village court and released on his own recognizance, with a future court date.
