GENEVA — Members of the Geneva Police Department responded to lower Seneca Street early Friday after reports of gunfire.
Officers arrived at approximately 12:45 a.m. and found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body.
The victim was taken by private vehicle to Geneva General Hospital before being transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital.
Authorities said the injuries were serious but not life-threatening.
Police recovered multiple 9mm bullet casings at the scene.
Witnesses in the area were uncooperative with investigators.
The Geneva Police Department is asking anyone with information about the shooting or possible suspects to come forward.
Multiple agencies assisted in the investigation, including the Geneva Fire Department, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, the Waterloo Police Department, and New York State Troopers.
The case remains under investigation.
