ERIN — A 41-year-old man was arrested Thursday for allegedly misusing food stamps and committing petit larceny.
Brett J. Vanzile of Beartown Road was taken into custody by investigators from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities allege that on April 1, Vanzile used another person’s benefit card issued by the Steuben County Department of Social Services to obtain unauthorized benefits.
He was charged with misuse of food stamps and petit larceny.
Vanzile was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Village of Bath Court at a later date.
Sheriff Jim Allard credited the Steuben County Department of Social Services Fraud and Legal Affairs Unit and the District Attorney’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.
