STAMFORD — On May 17 at approximately 2:34 a.m., Stamford police responded to a reported armed robbery at 41 Orange St.
A female victim told officers she was robbed at gunpoint in her driveway.
The suspect, described as a Black male wearing all-black clothing and a surgical mask, held a firearm to her neck and demanded her belongings before fleeing on foot.
The case was assigned to the Major Crimes Squad.
Detectives determined the suspect had followed the victim from the west side of Stamford before committing the robbery as she exited her vehicle.
Investigators identified the suspect as Desmond Hamilton, 26, of Ansonia.
He was also linked to similar robberies across Connecticut and faces charges in other jurisdictions.
A warrant was issued charging Hamilton with first-degree robbery, with bond set at $250,000.
On Aug. 5, judicial marshals in Milford took Hamilton into custody during a court appearance on unrelated charges.
He was arrested on the Stamford warrant and will be presented in court.
