Albany, NY police arrest 6, recover stolen guns in multi-agency raid

ALBANY — Six Albany residents were arrested Wednesday morning in connection with an ongoing investigation.

At about 6:05 a.m. on August 6, members of the Albany Police Department, along with multiple law enforcement agencies, executed several search warrants and recovered multiple firearms.

A loaded .22 caliber revolver, a loaded 9mm handgun reported stolen from Orlando, Florida, and a loaded .22 caliber handgun reported stolen from Kenansville, North Carolina, were seized from a location on Watervliet Avenue near Garfield Place.

Omari Lounds, 19, of Albany, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.

Zafarie Tarver, 20, of Albany, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.

Christopher Cancer, 22, of Albany, was charged with five counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree.

A loaded revolver, a defaced 12-gauge shotgun, and crack cocaine were seized from a location on Lexington Avenue near Sheridan Avenue.

Demani Carrion, 20, of Albany, was charged with one count of criminal possession of a firearm and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.

Keylonne Williams, 20, of Albany, was charged with one count of criminal possession of a firearm, one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

A 12-gauge shotgun was seized from Thornton Street near Livingston Avenue.

An AK-style pistol was seized from the 400 block of First Avenue in Watervliet.

Marshall Gause, 19, of Albany, was charged by Watervliet police with possession of a weapon.
