Ryegate man arrested on child sexual assault charge

RYEGATE — A 48-year-old Ryegate man was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated sexual assault with a child stemming from incidents that occurred between 2004 and 2007.

Jeremy Bogie was taken into custody Aug. 6 following a Vermont State Police investigation that began in June.

Police say the investigation revealed that Bogie sexually assaulted a female victim he knew multiple times when she was between 10 and 12 years old.

Bogie was lodged at the Northeast Correctional Facility and is being held without bail.

He is scheduled to be arraigned at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in St. Johnsbury.

Police said no additional information is available at this time.
