COHOES — Members of the New York State Police Special Operations Response Team were involved in a shooting incident while assisting the Cohoes Police Department on Aug. 6 at about 7:40 a.m.
The incident occurred in the area of Remsen Street, according to a Cohoes Police Department press release.
During the incident, an individual discharged a firearm at state police members and they returned fire.
No law enforcement members were injured and there is currently no threat to the public, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
