BERLIN — A brand new $300,000 tractor trailer was stolen from the lot of Peterbilt Trucking on March 31.

The vehicle was later found torched on I-91 in North Haven after numerous parts were removed from it.

The Berlin Police Investigations Division began a lengthy and complicated investigation which developed a suspect and ultimately led to a search warrant being executed at New Haven Truck & Auto Body in East Haven.

A refurbished tractor trailer fitted with numerous stolen parts was located and seized at the business.

Continued investigation, search warrant execution, and identification of stolen items led to the arrest by warrant on July 31 of New Haven Truck & Auto Body employee Jason Dennis, 45, of Milford.

Dennis was charged with first-degree larceny, third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal trover.

Dennis posted a $150,000 bond and will appear in GA-15 New Britain on Aug. 14 to answer for the charges.
