Auburn woman arrested on trespass, criminal mischief charges in Sennett

SENNETT — A 25-year-old Auburn woman was arrested Aug. 1 on charges of attempted criminal trespass and criminal mischief following an early morning incident at a residence.

Nyasia J. Spencer was taken into custody at approximately 5:56 a.m. by members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, according to Sheriff Brian Schenck.

Deputies responded to a residence in the town of Sennett around 5:03 a.m. for a report of trespassing.

An investigation revealed that Spencer had attempted to enter a house by opening a door that led directly inside, but was scared off by an occupant of the home.

Spencer also caused damage to a vehicle in the area by striking it with a skateboard, according to the sheriff’s office.

Spencer was charged with attempted criminal trespass in the second degree, a Class B misdemeanor, and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

She was processed at the Public Safety Building and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Sennett Court on Aug. 6 at 5 p.m.
