ANGOLA — State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries on the New York State Thruway at the Angola rest area in the town of Evans, Erie County, at about 10:17 a.m. Sunday.
The investigation revealed that a 2025 Honda SUV being operated by Gyanendra Timalsina, age 39, of Pickerington, Ohio, was travelling east on the Thruway when it entered the ramp to the rest area.
The operator pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes and lost control of the vehicle.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office along with fire and EMS personnel from Evans Center, Eden, Gowanda and Erie County assisted with extricating the victims from the vehicle and bringing them out of the ravine.
A 10-year-old child was airlifted to Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo with non-life-threatening head, arm and leg injuries.
A six-year-old and 13-year-old were also transported to Oishei with minor injuries.
The driver and three other passengers, ages 66, 65, and 44, were transported to Erie County Medical Center with minor injuries.
All of the passengers are from Ohio, with the exception of the 44-year-old, who is from Lexington, Kentucky.
