FAIR HAVEN — Police arrested a 48-year-old Rutland man July 31 on charges of unlawful restraint in the second degree.
Spencer R. Beckwith was taken into custody following an investigation into a reported encounter, according to the Fair Haven Police Department.
Police learned July 28 that a victim had encountered Beckwith on July 23.
According to police, Beckwith grabbed the victim and would not let her leave, making her walk to a nearby store.
Once inside the store, the victim told Beckwith they needed to go to work and he released them.
Police located Beckwith July 31 and took him into custody.
Beckwith was lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center.
