Endicott man arrested on hate crime charges for threatening federal employees

ENDICOTT — The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Owego and Endwell, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New York State Intelligence Center, have arrested an Endicott man for making racially motivated threats directed at federal government employees.

On Aug. 2, Edward J. Connors, age 50, of Endicott, was charged with Making a Terroristic Threat as a Hate Crime, a class “C” felony.

The investigation began after State Police received information that Connors made multiple threatening social media posts on “X” targeting current and former federal employees who are African American.

Connors was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident by members of the State Police.

He was processed at SP Endwell and transported to the Broome County Jail for centralized arraignment.

This case remains under investigation.
