EAST FISHKILL — Members of the New York State Police Troop K Community Stabilization Unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2024 Toyota traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of East Fishkill for multiple violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law on Aug. 4 at approximately 2:59 p.m.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Clinton P. Moody, 46, of Hempstead, N.Y.
State Police K-9 Vinn conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle, which resulted in a positive indication of narcotics.
A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of approximately 566 grams of cocaine.
Moody was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, a Class A-1 felony.
He was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree (narcotic drug with intent to sell), a Class B felony.
Moody faces multiple violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Moody was arraigned in the Town of Stanford Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.
He is scheduled to appear in the Town of East Fishkill Court on Aug. 8 at 5:00 p.m.
