COHOES — Two people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred July 8 at the intersection of State Route 787 and Tibbits Avenue.
State Police arrested Dakota L. Thibodeau, 29, of Cohoes, on July 9 for conspiracy in the fifth degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Michael J. Torturo, 40, of Ballston Spa, was arrested July 29 with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force on charges of assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, conspiracy in the fifth degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
Troopers responded to the stabbing report at about 3:48 p.m. July 8.
The investigation determined Torturo exited a vehicle driven by Thibodeau and stabbed the victim in the shoulder area through an open car window while the vehicle was stopped at a traffic signal.
Torturo returned to the vehicle and Thibodeau drove away from the scene.
A child under age 17 was in Thibodeau’s vehicle when the stabbing occurred.
The victim was transported to Samaritan Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim and Thibodeau were known to each other.
Thibodeau was arrested at her home July 9 and transported to State Police Latham for processing before being released with an appearance ticket for Cohoes City Court on July 24.
An arrest warrant was issued for Torturo by Cohoes City Court July 18.
Torturo was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Mechanicville on July 29.
He was transported to State Police Latham for processing and arraigned at Cohoes City Court, where he was remanded to Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.
